WFP&I - Welfare Fraud Prevention & Investigation

The Department of Public Social Services Welfare Fraud Prevention & Investigation (WFP&I) Section was established to investigate allegations of welfare fraud in these public assistance programs:

1. CalWORKs
2. Food Stamps
3. General Relief
4. GAIN
5. Refugee programs
6. Child Care

WFP&I does not investigate Medi-Cal fraud. Those cases are handled by investigators working for the State Department of Health Services.
